For 25+ years, the Certified Crop Adviser program
has been the gold-standard for practicing
agronomy professionals.
The Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Program is established as a benchmark for agronomy professionals and is the largest, voluntary certification program in the agricultural industry. It provides base-level standards for agronomic knowledge through a national and regional testing process and raises those standards through continuing education.
The goal of the program is to enable agriculture as an industry to meet its environmental stewardship objective. Get the recognition, opportunities, and respect you deserve.

Exam resources
The following are videos from UW Madison Extension staff to help you prepare for the Wisconsin CCA Exam.
Self REport CEus to Your account
If you attended an activity that did not apply for CEUs, then you can report this activity to receive credit. Eligible activities are short courses, workshops, clinics, conferences, symposia, field days, college courses, or meetings that relate to any of the four CEU categories listed above. When reporting, you will need the meeting title, location, speaker information (if applicable), sponsoring organization, date, description, and what CEU category the activity fulfills. It is recommended to attach any agendas or certificates to the form as well.
Determine how many credits you receive for an activity:
30 to 45 minutes = 0.5 CEUs
46 to 75 minutes = 1.0 CEUs
76 to 105 minutes = 1.5 CEUs
106 to 135 minutes = 2.0 CEUs
Self-reported CEUs count towards your overall credit minimum and can apply to a category, but you still need to obtain 20 Board Approved credits.

Being a Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser has created multiple educational opportunities that broadened my agronomic and environmental awareness to local and global opportunities that can be shared with those I work with in my local communities.
Tryston Beyrer
WI CCA Board Member
Continuing education is the backbone of the CCA Certification.
Simon Larson
WI CCA Board Member

I love being a WI CCA and taking up-to-date knowledge to WI farmers and putting that into practice.
CHris Clark
WI CCA Board Member

I got certified as a CCA as a way to stay engaged in continuous education throughout my career so that I can provide WI farmers and coop advisors with the best advise as possible.
Chris Bandura
WI CCA Board Member
Being a CCA has allowed me to network with other agronomists to fine tune management decisions for our Ag Research Station and my home farm. It has been especially useful as I write the nutrient management plan for my home farm and implement it.
Doug Wiedenbeck
WI CCA Board Member

I became certified in 1999 and have really enjoyed the learning opportunities along the way and the ability to write nutrient management plans for my clients.
Rob Shields
WI CCA Board Member
I became a CCA because without a 4-year degree I felt I needed a way to share (and prove) that I have credentials to answer the tough questions that the farm experiences. With my CCA I get to network and continue my education constantly, as technology, climate and the agronomic environment changes.
JOe Hartung
WI CCA Board Member
I have been a Wisconsin CCA for over 20 years now. Its been a source of pride to add those 3 letters behind my name and to share the CCA story to clients and co-workers.
